TUITION, FEES, DISCOUNTS & SCHOLARSHIPS
TUITION AND FEES:
Trial Class: $25. FUNdamentals or Dance students who try a class and enroll in that semester receive a $25 credit on their account.
Semester Tuition: $23.50/class multiplied by number of weeks enrolled. Semester schedule is designed so that every day of the week has the same number of classes. Fall Semester is generally 15-17 weeks long, Spring Semester is generally 18-22 weeks long. (June 4, 2024)
Registration Fee: $15/semester. The registration fee allows current students access to priority enrollment and Early Bird discounts.
Payment Plan: Semester tuition can be divided into 2-4 parts for a $5 fee per payment. Tuition must be paid in full before the last month of the semester.
Camp Tuition: $500 for Summer Dance Camp. (June 4, 2024)
Camp Tuition: $450 ($425 + $25 materials fee) for Dance Me A Story dance and art camp. (June 4, 2024)
Summer Saturdays: $25/class for individual classes, bulk price for summer session depends on number of weeks.
Late Fee: $5 payment per week or portion thereof is charged for outstanding invoices 7 days past due date.
Switch Fee: $25 for student requested class switch. Additional tuition may be due depending on the proration. No charge for a GDC initiated switch. Please note: the switch will not be performed if it leaves the class below the enrollment threshold of 3 students.
Performance Fee: $30 per child per semester enrolled. (applies only to students who perform. Opt out of performing by a certain date and there is no charge). No charge for FUNdamentals of Dance students.
Costume Fee: wholesale price of costume plus $25 handling fee plus tax. (applies only to students who perform. (Opt out of performing by a certain date and there is no charge).
Extended Care: $20/hour charged to the next 15 minute increment. Available only during summer camps, 8am to start of camp and end of camp to 6pm. Start and end times of camps differ depending on camp.
Tuition and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If you are a new student, we recommend your dancer try a class first before committing to the semester tuition. We do not credit or refund tuition if the student drops the class except for documented serious medical issues. We do not credit or refund tuition for classes missed, please see our makeup policy for more information.
DISCOUNTS
10% New Student Discount: applies to semester tuition only regardless of when enrolling. Will be applied to prorated tuition. Does not apply to adult classes, camps or summer classes. Can be stacked with other discounts.
5% Sibling Discount: Applies to all siblings on the same account. Does not apply to adult classes, camps or summer classes. Can be stacked with other discounts.
5% Volume Discount: applies to accounts with enrollment in 4 or more classes/week during a semester and applies to purchase of 3 or more camps on the same account. Does not apply to adult classes. Can be stacked with other discounts.
5% Early Bird Discount: applies only to fully paid tuition during the 2 week priority re-enrollment period for semester classes, camps or summer classes. Does not apply to new students, adult classes or accounts on payment plans. Can be stacked with other discounts.
$50 Referral Credit: refer a friend who enrolls for 10 weeks or more of semester classes and you receive a $50 credit towards your next purchase. Referred child must complete at least 10 weeks of the semester before credit is applied. Does not apply to camps, summer classes or adult classes. In the event of a group of friends enrolling, we give the discount to the person organizing the group. Credit can be donated to another family or the GDC Scholarship Fund.
$25 Enrollment Credit: for new students who enroll in a FUNdamentals of Dance class after paying the $25 Trial Class Fee. Credit only applies to the semester when the trial class took place. Applies to new students only.
$25 Enrollment Credit: for any new student who enrolls in full session of Summer Saturdays or summer camp and subsequently enrolls the following Fall Semester. Credit expires Sept 30 of that year.
MAKEUP POLICY
Classes for K and up are allowed up to 2 makeup classes per semester before being charged $25 for drop-in class.
FUNdamentals of Dance students are allowed up to 4 makeup classes per semester before being charged $25 for a drop-in class.
Makeup classes must be the same level or lower in the same style or comparable style (ex: Musical Theater Jazz for ages 7-10/Beginning Jazz).
If there is no other option offered for that style or level, the child MAY be allowed to attend another level or style with permission of the instructor and co-owners.
The instructor will not tailor the class or amend choreography for the student doing the makeup.
Missed classes cannot be credited to tuition, replace a switch fee or apply to a class a child just switched into.
GDC will not refund or credit tuition if the child’s schedule does not allow for a makeup.
During performance semesters, makeups will not be permitted in the 4 weeks before the recital performance or the end of the semester.
WORK/STUDY & Scholarships
Teaching Assistants: students age 11+ are eligible to assist classes for a tuition credit. Student applicants are evaluated on their attendance, patience, passion, ability to take direction and ability to assist younger students. Some TA’s have gone on to teach classes after continued training.
Scholarships: Limited scholarships are available to students who can demonstrate financial need. Student must have been attending at least 2 consecutive semesters, have excellent attendance and passion for dance. Scholarships can apply to a max of 2 consecutive semesters and will not total more than 50% of semester tuition. Applies only to semester tuition. Recipients of scholarships are expected to volunteer their time or expertise to Geary Dance Center in a fashion agreed upon by both parties.
