MUSICAL THEATER JAZZ: ages 7-10

Musical Theater Jazz combines jazz dance, spoken dialogue/lip syncing, and acting. Perfect for your animated dancer!

For our younger dancers (ages 7-9): We will focus on acting, movement and creating a piece that tells a story, using music from non-gender specific, age appropriate musicals, such as Matilda or Shrek the Musical.

FOR TEENS: In this class we will explore the stylistic characteristics of various choreographers, such as Bob Fosse (Chicago), Jerome Robbins (West Side Story), and Agnes de Mille (Carousel).

Attire: Athletic clothing and jazz shoes for class. Dancers ages 10+ are encouraged to have tan character shoes (1.5-2 heel maximum) in addition to jazz shoes. Hair is to be worn up and away from the face.
