What personal data we collect and why we collect it
If you click on the green CONTACT FORM button you are interested in more information about our classes, camps, birthday parties or studio rentals. Our Contact Form requires you to enter your full name, email and phone number, as well as the full name and birthdate of the student and what they are interested in so we can better assist you in placing your dancer in the best class for them.
If you click on the red REGISTER button, you will be asked to enter your basic contact info via our online registration platform, Studio Director. Registration allows online enrollment in camps, adult classes and beginning level classes and enrollment in upper level classes through the office. We communicate a lot of important information about classes, calendar, savings opportunities and advancement via email. If you enroll in classes at Geary Dance Center you must be registered and you must have a valid email address.
We only collect pertinent information solely for our use and ability to safely teach your child. We do not sell or give your or your child’s information to anyone outside of our office – not even faculty. If you want us to delete your or your child’s personal information we can do this once they are no longer taking class with us. Maintaining a Studio Director account is required for continuing classes at Geary Dance Center. If you request we delete personal information while your child is still taking classes with us, they will be dropped and can no longer attend class. All sales are final so any remaining balance of tuition and fees paid cannot be credited or refunded before or after deleting your information.
What do we do with your personal info?
If you fill out a CONTACT FORM your contact info goes into a google sheet so we can follow up on your interest in classes at Geary Dance Center. That google sheet is only viewed by GDC office staff. You can always contact us by phone, email or stop by to inquire about classes, however, enrollment in classes requires registration into Studio Director.
If you REGISTER with us, the office will use email exclusively to send enrollment info, notices of Early Bird discount deadlines, important dates and closures, invoices, receipts, progress reports and our monthly newsletter. Your contact info can be accessed by our office staff to enroll your dancer into classes or notify you of a billing issue. If our office staff has an internal office problem with the registration platform, your contact info can be accessed by Studio Director customer service. Your contact info remains on our registration platform until your dancer is no longer enrolled with us, after which you may request that all your contact info be deleted.
We must have your personal contact info, and that of your child, to enroll in classes at Geary Dance Center and we require your contact info on file while your child is enrolled.
Comments and Cookies
We do not allow visitors to leave comments on our website. We probably attach cookies, I don’t know, so clearly I don’t know how to do anything nefarious with those cookies. If anything is done with those cookies it’s being done by our web host, Hostgator.
Embedded Content
GearyDance.com does not contain embedded content from other websites.
Who we share your data with
We don’t share contact info with anyone, even faculty or other parents without express written permission from you. Studio Director may have brief access to your contact info if we allow them access for our own customer support.
How long we keep your data
Your contact info is retained indefinitely on Studio Director unless you request we delete your account. We annually destroy paper copies of registration forms.
Please note: while your dancer is a current student, we cannot delete your contact information without dropping the student from the class. All sales are final so any balance of tuition or fees will not be returned.
What rights you have over your data:
If you have a Studio Director account, you have full access to the information on it. You can request to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Please note: while your dancer is a current student, we will not delete your contact information.
Where we send your data:
Your contact info either goes into a google form if you click CONTACT US, or to create a Studio Director account if you click REGISTER. Both are for internal Geary Dance Center office use only. We do not share data, mailing lists or contact information.
