BROADWAY BOOT CAMP ages 10+
Do you have an aspiring Musical Theater artist? Or maybe someone who’s reached a certain level and needs help for whatever’s next? Broadway Boot Camp is for them! The camp works on dance, singing and acting with targeted songs and monologues, and adds a mock audition that simulates a cold-call with feedback for each for each camper. The week culminates in a short presentation of scenes from a selected musical. We study dance styles and steps that are most likely to be used in a musical production like Jazz, Tap, basic Ballet and Contemporary, some ballroom styles like Waltz and Salsa and some folk dance styles like Square Dance and Irish Clogging. Campers will learn age-appropriate monologues and scenes and will work on songs that are most appropriate for their voice type and range. Campers will participate in a roundtable of tips and advice from seasoned professionals about auditions, self-care and finding the ways to present the best aspects of their voice, acting, dancing and personality. They will learn how to do their own hair in a variety of styles, as well as their own makeup for a variety of ages and characters. At the end of the week, each camper will receive a headshot for future use.
Musicals studied have included Oklahoma, Carousel, Newsies, Hairspray, The Sound of Music, Hamilton and In The Heights.
Broadway Boot Camp is not offered at this time.

Please note: Registration creates an account in our online registration portal and allows you to enroll online in Summer Camps, beginning level classes, and adult classes only. Scheduling trial classes and placement into upper level classes and preschool FUN classes must go through the office.
Enrollment in a class or camp is confirmed only with payment in full of tuition and any associated fees.
GDC accepts cash, check or Zelle (EFT) payments only.

Extended Care is available 8-9am and 4-6pm for $20/hour charged in 15 minute increments. Extended Care must be scheduled and paid in advance.
* All sales are final.
* Camp tuition is not refundable or transferable to semester tuition except for a serious documented medical issue. $100 cancellation fee will apply.
* Payment in full secures enrollment.
* Students with outstanding tuition will be dropped 10 days after initial enrollment.
* Sibling and new student discounts do not apply to Summer Dance Camps.

GDC reserves the right to cancel camp due to insufficient enrollment and will return all camp fees upon cancellation. Minimum of 4 dancers, maximum of 8 dancers.
