Very bright stage lights bleach everything out. Makeup is needed to show the features from afar and under the strong lights. The intention of our preferred stage makeup is to look natural and “kissed by the sun”.

Under age 10
Girls:
1) eye liner (a thin cat eye on the upper lid only)
2) eye shadow in brown & gold (brown for low lights like crease, gold for highlights like orbital bone)
3) mascara and eyebrow pencil as needed depending on coloring

4) blush in rosy pink for cheek apples
5) lipstick in pinky red (think raspberries not cherries)
Boys may need definition with eyebrows depending on coloring. Boys can wear makeup if needed and/or desired.
Over age 10
Most likely at this age the dancer’s skin starts showing some unevenness and will benefit from base/foundation and eyes are accentuated.
Girls:
1) base or foundation a shade lighter than skin tone
2) eyeliner (thicker cat eye on upper lid)
3) eye shadow in brown & gold (brown for low lights like crease, gold for highlights like orbital bone)
4) mascara or false eyelashes
5) eyebrow pencil as needed depending on coloring
6) blush in rosy pink for cheek apples and darker blush for under cheek bones
7) lipstick in pinky red (think raspberries not cherries)
