COVID PROTOCOLS

GEARY DANCE CENTER’S SAFETY PROTOCOLS

Geary Dance Center is committed to keeping its staff, faculty, students, and their families safe during this time and our covid protocols meet or exceed the current guidelines given by the San Francisco Department of Public Health and the CDC. To facilitate everyone’s safety, we highly recommend the following, regardless of vaccination status:

1) It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that any person age 3 and over entering the premises wear a mask correctly at all times.
2) Please stay home if exhibiting signs of respiratory illness.
3) If a student gets covid or tests positive for covid they must notify the GDC office and quarantine for at least 5 days. DO NOT BRING YOUR DANCER TO CLASS.

VENTILATION AND CLEANING PROTOCOLS
GDC will use fans, open windows and doors and air conditioning where available. Students will be expected to dress warmly during colder weather. Staff will periodically wipe down frequently touched items in the lounge and bathroom areas.

IN-CLASS SAFETY PROTOCOLS
All teachers have been instructed on industry specific safety standards such as parallel movement across the floor, waiting when doing movements that alternate across the floor and limiting floor work.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
San Francisco is mandating full vaccination for all faculty, staff and eligible students of dance studios by October 13. We will require proof of vaccination on file for all students by that time. While we strongly encourage and support all doctor recommended vaccinations for children and adults, San Francisco is allowing exemptions for medical or religious reasons. If you have a medical or religious exemption, we will need documented proof of that permitted exemption. Thank you for helping keep our younger dancers safe. Please note that we DO NOT refund or credit tuition for dropped classes except in the case of the child’s documented serious medical issue that precludes them from completing the semester.

Geary Dance Center follows the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control, California Department of Public Health, the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and industry standards, whichever is stricter.

Please note:  Masks and distancing are highly recommended for parents and students while on the GDC premises regardless of vaccination status. Masks will be required of all GDC staff and faculty.
GDC reserves the right to pivot to online classes if necessary. In the event of such an occurrence, we will be unable to credit or refund tuition.
